Lil Tecca
Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe (born on
August 26, 2002) also known as Lil Tecca, is an American musician and rapper.
The rapper gained fame with the release of his single from 2019
"Ransom" which peaked at number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100. His mixtape
debut, We Love You Tecca (2019) was the first to include the single. It peaked
at fourth place in the US Billboard 200. The mixtape also contained the singles
"Love Me" and "Did It Again". The album he released as his
debut called Virgo World (2020) was released on the Billboard 200 at number 10.
It contained the Billboard Hot 100 chart-charting songs "Dolly", and
"When You Down". The second mixtape he released, We Love You Tecca 2
was released in August 2021. It included the songs "Repeat It",
"Lot of Me" and many more. Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe is an Jamaican
native, immigrated to the United States in Queens on the 26th of August 2002.
Sharpe was raised in Springfield Gardens a neighborhood of Queens however, he
later moved to Cedarhurst in Long Island. Sharpe was always hoping to be a part
of the NBA as a child, but at the age of 12, Sharpe decided to pursue a career
in music. He completed his studies at Lawrence High School. Tecca was just nine
years old age when he began rapping on his Xbox. They would make tracks of diss
directed towards each other One of them was uploaded to SoundCloud several
years ago, but has since been removed. At first, he didn't intend to pursue
music and instead wanted to be an NBA superstar. He began to pursue music more
seriously when the time he stopped playing basketball at the age of middle
school. His first single to become famous, "Tectri", was created in
partnership with Lil Gummybear and released in the beginning of 2017. Other
tracks by Tecca include "Callin" as well as "Tectri".
Tecca's career took off one year later when he released the smash single
"Ransom" and was uploaded to Cole Bennett's Lyrical Lemonade YouTube
channel in May 22, 2019. The track reached the top spot at number 4 on the
Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song has received more than 90 million Spotify
plays and has more than 300 million YouTube views.
